(HOUSTON) -- In a first-of-its-kind broadcast, a Houston hospital on Wednesday live-tweeted a surgical birth on Twitter.

Viewers could follow the entire process on the social networking site, as Women's Memorial Hermann Hospital helped a 39-year-old woman deliver the baby. The hospital kept the public up to date with text, images and video in a sort of step-by-step guide of how a cesarean section is performed.
